This is a non-fiction account of Timberlake's Expedition deep into Cherokee Country at the end of the Anglo-Cherokee war in Virginian and the Carolinas. (1758-1761)And his subsequent efforts as am emissary to the Cherokee Nation.
An excellent read for those truly interested in colonial history and Ango-Indian relations. It is a true story written by the author when he was interred in debtor's prison. Very sad that he never got to return home and died after having personally sacrified so much in the effort to improve Anglo-Cherokee relations.
